“TK is equally as important as other science presentations,” AMCC.

The Alaska Board of Fisheries (BOF) is inviting additional public input of Traditional Knowledge (TK) at its upcoming meetings in Kodiak and Upper Cook Inlet. Knowledge holders can respond by written or oral remarks at the meetings.

The BOF in November developed a definition of TK which is defined in the Notice below.

The Fish Board oversees management of subsistence, commercial, sport and personal use fisheries in state waters that extend out to three miles.

It will address 31 proposals at its meeting in Kodiak from January 9-12. The Upper Cook Inlet marathon is set from Feb. 23 – March 6 at the Egan Convention Center in Anchorage where the BOF will address a whopping 186 fishery management proposals.
