United Catcher Boats represents 65 trawl vessels that deliver to shoreside plants
Andrea Keikkala left her position as assistant director of the International Pacific Halibut Commission on Nov. 18 to take over as the new executive director for United Catcher Boats. Keikkala worked with the IPCH starting in 2022. She replaces Brent Paine, who is retiring after leading UCB for over 30 years.
United Catcher Boats is a Seattle-based trade association comprised of boats that deliver Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska pollock and other groundfish to shore plants.

“Oversaw and led the internal operations of the organization, providing direct management guidance. Facilitated coordination among IPHC branches, teams, and committees, contributing to the development of policies, standards, and procedures as a key member of the Senior Management Team. Played a significant role in implementing the organization’s strategic plan.
Served as the executive officer responsible for accounting, personnel, and technology services. Collaborated with the Executive Director to provide leadership and oversight to the Port Services, Employee Engagement, and Fisheries Independent Set Line Survey (FISS) teams and committees.
Focused on managing federal grants, ensuring compliance and effective utilization. Proactively prepared operational budgets and enhanced budget and accounting processes in line with Commission policies. Supported the Executive Director in executing IPHC activities and policies.”
