AK Bycatch Council schedules public Q&A with reps from NPFMC, BOF

Open Meeting via Zoom set for Thursday, April 24

The Alaska Bycatch Advisory Council (BAC) invites the public to participate in a Question and Answer forum as part of its meeting on Thursday, April 24 at 9am Alaska time. (See the agenda below)

Presentations will be made by Art Nelson, Executive Director of the on the state Board of Fisheries Process and Diana Stram, senior scientist with the North Pacific Fishery Management Council and its lead on Bering Sea halibut and salmon bycatch issues.

A Q and A session will follow each presentation.

The BAC was created in 2023 by ADF&G Commissioner Doug Vincent-Lang who ordered the establishment of a six member panel to help advance the recommendations outlined by the AK Bycatch Review Task Force (ABRT) provided to Governor Dunleavy in December 2022. .
